Hi Folks,
New to the site and new to Blackberry so go gentle with me.
I received my new Pearl 8110 on T-Mobile last week and after loading the Desktop Manager software plugged my device in to start to sync, but keep recieving this message

Initial Plugin: verifying applications
Checking the status of the applications on the device. This is only required on the first connection of the device to a new desktop installation.


I have downloaded software from the Blackberry site, used the enclosed disc, used both my laptop and desk top and only yesterday T-Mobile replaced the handset but all to no avail, it still hangs.

Any advice would be gratefully welcome.

What version of Desktop Manager do you have installed?

Version 4.3

Download and install version 4.2, Service Pack 2, and try again. I would recommend the version withOUT Roxio Media Manager.

If I install it without Roxio Media Manager, can i still upload musiv to my device?

Oh yes, certainly. Use this method withOUT Roxio.

Many of us do this ^^, with the Mass Storage enabled, much cleaner and simpler. Your Media Card on the BB simply acts as and appears as a removable drive on your PC when the BB is plugged in to the PC USB cable.

Are you using a USB hub? Make sure the USB cord is plugged DIRECT to the PC.

Apart from the software is there something else I should try?
