Hey everyone, I'm thinking about upgrading to the Blackberry Pearl tomorrow! I have two questions that I need help answering!

1) Do I need to purchase the verizon data package when i buy the phone? Can i just not use the internet therefore not requiring activation of the data package?

2) Do I have to pay a monthly fee in order to use email with the Pearl? Like if I wanted to use gmail or something would there be an extra cost beyond that of just purchasing the phone?

thanks for any responses! btw, this site is pretty cool

1) Verizon requires that you have a BB Data Plan, and you will be unhappy without it.
2) Just the monthly cost of the BlackBerryInternet Service/ Blackberry Data Plan.

I believe AT&T (my carrier) is the only carrier that lets you buy a BB without a dataplan. As much as I would like to have one, I think that spending more on a phone data plan than I do on my home DSL internet is just beyond a waste of money.
