| anyone using their pearl with an intercom & Garmin? Please Login to Remove! Hey all,
I am needing a little help. I previously had a 7000 series blackberry that I used with my Garmin 2820 Bluetooth Street Pilot and an IMC-100 (non-bluetooth) intercom system on my motorcycle. It worked great. The Garmin and Pearl bluetoothed together so I could keep my phone under my seat while sending my phone's info to my Garmin. My work recently upgraded our phones to Pearls and now my blackberry will no longer work the mic portion of the intercom. The Pearl doesn't pick up my intercom as a headset. I think it has something to do with the 3.5mm input for the headset vs. the old 2.5mm input on my previous 7000 series blackberry. The intercom has a two-ring 3.5mm male input to connect into the 3.5mm input of the phone, in which I used to have to use a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor to function with the intercom with the phone correctly. The weird thing is, I currently can receive a phone call without the mic functioning and option to activate the headset on the Blackberry to get the mic to function. Clearly, I can't go through all this button pushing while safely riding a motorcycle. And I can't just connect straight to the Garmin without the intercom due to the quality of the mic. The intercom mic is specifically designed for motorcycle to compensate for wind noise. Wow, a lot there - I'm sorry. Hopefully, this makes sense.
My question is, is there a setting on the Pearl that will keep the phone on headset mode? Or is there a way to make the phone think that a headset is attached through an adaptor of some kind? |
