Default setting up email on a VZW 8130

Please Login to Remove!

ok guys. im a new member to the world of blackberry. i just bought an 8130 vzw edition off ebay and i have it activated for my # and everything now. but im trying to set up my email. i go thru the email setup wizard and it asks for a usernam/pass but i dont have it. so i try creating a new one but the PIN to the phone is already registered under the previous owner. is there anyway to have RIM or VZW override this and delete that account so i can creat a new one for myself? i emailed the seller of the phone trying to get the username/pass so i can do it this way as well but im still waiting for an answer. any help anyone can provide is appreciated.

You need to askeither the old owner to release the PIN from their BIS, or call them yourself. Be nice, they don't have to do it.

I've ran into that so many times. Just call verizon and ask to speak with bb data support. Tell them you need to set up a new username and pasword and you have a used device. They will clear out the previous persons info for you. And set your new name and password. You don't have to call the previous owner at all.
