Just got the Blackberry Pearl 8130 VZW edition off ebay. Great seller great phone absolutely no problems. Only thing thats wrong is the PIN is still attached to him so he is going to call after his Memorial Weekend to have it released for me to use so I can set up my email on the phone. I only got the phone off ebay, it didnt come w/ any booklets or cds or anything. SO I d/l the BB Desktop Manager off the BB website. My question is, I only have a GMAIL email account, when setting up this software do I want to set it up using the BB Enterprise Software/ Redirector choice or the BB Internet Service choice? 2nd if its the Enterprise/Redirector one I'm lost when I get to that next screen. I have no idea which selection I need. Is it the Outlook, Lotus Domino, Novell, BB Enterprise Server for MDS apps? I am totally lost. If someone is willing to walk thru w/ me to set this up it's greatly appreciated. I apoligize for bombarding the forums w/ all these stupid noob questions. This is sincerely appreciated. Thank you.

When you get the BlackBerry Data Plan on your account, you will have a choice for personal email setup. But the pin will have to be releases first.

1. You want BB Internet Service.

It's easy after that. Setting up the Desktop Manager won't affect the BIS, anyway. You don't setup the email from the Desktop Manager. You'll still need the pin released before you can setup your email on the web or on the device.

yea i realize that. i was just wanting to get this desktop manager setup so i can transfer music and things. i can do that right? what type of usb cable do i need in order to hook up my bb to my comp? its a dell laptop. thanks for the quick response guys, its very much appreciated!!

You just need a regular mini USB cable that will fit in your Blackberry.

Usually one from a camera or a motorola phone.
