Do you have encryption set on your Address Book in your Options > Security? I wonder if that could cause some slowdown in accessing it.

Include Address Book = NO

The content protection is Disabled, and the include address book shows Yes

Well make that say NO for the Address Book.

But you don't need to. Remove them from your SIM.
