I recently lost my Blackberry Pearl, the poor phone laid in Walmart parking lot for about a week. Mother nature was terrible to the phone, it had rained 2 days that week. I got a call just the other day from someone that had found my phone, I loaded up and went to get it. I brought it home and the phone was soaked in water and mud, I didn't give up I got out the hair dryer and started drying. Today I finally got the nerve to plug the phone in, the red light stays on for about 7 seconds and turns off then it shows a dim background with a battery and red slash. I really need this phone fixed (As I cannot afford another one)

Oh One more thing I would like to put .. In desktop manager it says PIN: NONE but when I click none it says .. USB-PIN:243A651A

Zoinks! Sounds like it is fried.

A very lengthy drying out period with the battery OUT is about the best you can do, and then only hope. I have saved two, lost one.

The no battery symbol is basically a sign of no battery charge, it could take it an hour or more to move off that IF it will continue to charge. You may be in business if it will charge further.

According to how long you actually let it dry out, you might give it somemore time, up to 4-5 days, with the battery out, and try again.

You could be ok... but a charger and a battery connected are the very worst enemy of a wet BB... You have to decide if it is dry enough.

lol yeah I was anxious and got the best of me! woopsie! im going to see if a new battery works if not guess ill drag out my 3 year old Nokia 6010! Its never failed me lol

My *guess* is that a new battery will fix you up. Maybe you can go the ATT store and try one before purchasing.

Does anyone know if the ATT kiosk in Walmart would let me borrow/possibly buy one of their Blackberry Pearl batteries? I'm about 60 miles from a ATT store and the way with gas prices ..

I took the phone to my local Walmart connection center and the sales associate put a battery in and the phone came on! Its amazing!

my wife droped her PEARL in a bucket of water (@#$$#@&^%$#) but took it out rite away, we let it dry for 2 days with battery out and this beauty still works great .i love BB's man.so tuff and ruff.LOL.

wow your a lucky guy. first, you lost your phone and you got it back. not only that, but after raining 2 days in a row and it was just a fried battery. all i gotta say is god loves you lol
