So I just acquired the 8110 Pearl with GPS with Rogers. I place my SIM card in and when it starts up it trys to search for a network but it wont connect to Rogers. All the updates are done to it and everything seems in order. My SIM card does work on my old phones such as my K1 and my old Blackberry but not this one. Rogers doesn't even know what is wrong. Any ideas?

Go to a store and get a different sum card. That's usually the problem

I did try a friend's chip but his didn't work either. After i wiped the device twice, updated all the software, I called Rogers back and they think that the radio device might be toast.

Does the device "see" any networks, look at options > mobile network.
Was this a brand new device?

It shows networks in the preferred network list but it doesn't actually see the networks even when I put in manually.
