I've spent the last 2 days trying to sort this issue out on my own by looking at numerous websites and following their directions. I am in no way computer illiterate, I'm just having trouble getting past a certain critical point.

My issue is that my phone deleted all of it's software and operating system after attempting to punch in a password and now I'm getting an error code 507. I have downloaded the lastest OS for the 8100 that I own, but every time I have the device manager opened up and connect the phone it doesn't show up as connected even when my computer recognizes the device and tells me my new hardware is installed and ready to use. I have attempted to delete the Vendor.xml file and then reinstall that way, I've tried going through the application loader, I'm at the end of my rope.

Any help is appreciated, hopefully someone can help me make my phone into a phone again instead of an expensive doorstop.

It's quite simple....

1. Install Desktop Manager-Done.
2. Install OS for the 8100 - Done.
3. Delete Vendor.xml -Done
4. Plug BB into USB, and open Desktop Manager.
5. Open Application Loader and the DM should recognize the device.

Amazing...I've done this at least a half dozen times, and now that I make a post about it, of course it works.
