Exclamation Same problem, again and again!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey there,

I'm new here, but I've been reading for some time already...

Here's my problem:

From one second to the other, my 8100 stopped to accept input from certain keys. For example, the first one didnt take the return key and the one with the "e".
So, i gave it back to the store, where we bought it and got a new one. Worked a few months, same problem again. But now it didn't accept clicks from the trackball...
Back again, new one.

No, after 13 months, I've got my third pearl, and got the same problem again! This time, it's the trackball again.
It's just a pain in the a** as I really need the BB all the time

I'm so angry, I'm gonna switch to the new iPhone as soon as I'm out of my BB-contract (they HAVE to let me out... if not, I'm gonna cancel all the few hundred phones we got in the company!)

The guys in the IT-Departement couldn't help me, nor could anyone else... Maybe anyone of you got an idea, what the problem might be and how it could be solved?

Thanks a lot for your help!

P.s.: Please excuse any mistakes, I'm trying to do my best, but English is not my mother language!

Wirelessly posted (my new touch button BB)

Do you carry the pearl in your pocket?

like ez is suggesting it may be from the keys being held down too hard or too long like they would be if your bb was squished in your pocket. get a case!

Yes, I'm carrying the BB in the pocket...
But I'm NOT getting a case for it! I mean, every other phone I had didn't have any problems with that!
Where else are you supposed to carry a mobile phone, other than in your pockets? I chose the pearl mainly because it's so small, if I use a case, the whole size-advantage is gone......
Is there no other solution to the problem?

it comes with a pouch use that.
how many other devices have the same trackball layout as the 81/83/88 series devices? The answer would be none (since they are not the same phone and the nagivation is done differently)

face it, you are damaging your device

Well guys, thanks a lot for your help!
But i contacted my provider, and they're letting me out of the blackberry contract. I don't want another new phone again, cause I'm not willing to use a pouch and this way it would be broken soon again.
Guess I'm gettin a new iPhone as soon as it comes out, which would also solve my problem with Mac OSX compatibility.

i'm not against the iphone or anything, but because you refuse to get a case that will protect your phone, you are instead choosing to get a phone that is entirely touch screen and more suceptible to damage...

Who says you can't carry your BB in a case, and in your pocket because I do all the time.

Of course, its your choice, but the people here are trying to help you, and trust me, they are knowledgeable. A simple case would solve your problems most likely, plus save you a couple bucks. Trust me, I had an iPhone for a hot minute, then came over to BB. The hype is the best part of it.

But as I said, its your choice.

Well to be honest with you all, I just got my blackberry and it randomly started doing it on its own. I didn't carry it in my pocket or clean it or do anything at all. It just stopped working for certain keys, then after about five mins it started to work again. I hate getting refurbished blackberries, so I'm trying to avoid that if at all possible
