Default How should Jl Cmder behave?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a brand new 8100 from T-Mobile that appears to be dead. When you turn it on, the light blinks amber a couple times, the spinning hourglass appears for a minute or so and then it goes black. This cycle repeats endlessly.

I tried re-installing using the AppLoader (with the latest updates), but this doesn't seem to be doing much. Following the update, I get a longer period of spinning hourglass and then it returns to the endless reboot cycle.

I'm trying to run JL Cmder to wipe everything out but I'm not sure it's working. When I run the executable, it says "about install...", I click ok, a command window appears briefly and then nothing. This happens whether I run it from the command prompt or double click on the icon.

So, my question is, what should happen when I run this? I've read that it can take many tries to connect to the device but it doesn't appear to even be installed.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums! The amber color puzzles me as it's normally red but review this link (this is the one that may take a couple of tries as you have to catch it at the might moment during boot cycle. When you are done the device should have a 507 error on it and be ready to load the OS. Good Luck! And be PATIENT during the OS load it will have multiple reboots and could take as long as 1.25 hours be PATIENT!

Thanks for the quick response.

I followed the instructions at "What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe" and eventually got to a blank screen with a 507 error. (I guess this means that everything was wiped successfully).

I've re-run the Apploader and now I'm in the endless reboot cycle once again. Is there any chance of it eventually coming up when it's like this or not?

I don't want to disconnect and mess it up but it but it's pretty much behaving the same way that it was in the beginning.

..it's only been about a half hour since I started the process but the fact that it's turning on and off endlessly seems a bit different than the other posts that I'm reading.
