Default Fix for Camera issue? - 07-07-2008, 10:16 AM

I too noticed that after upgrading to this OS my camera was all messed up. I happened to browse to my SD card the other day using the media browser and then right after that I started to take a picture and of all things I noticed that my camera was working - when I opened the media browser the first time it too forever to open - so long that I thought it had locked up on me.....

any one else observe this?

Thumbs up TMO 8100 working fine - 07-07-2008, 12:41 PM

I just wanted to say that after reading many of the reply's, I was hesitant to install 4.5 on my 8100 TMO phone. I think most of the issues involve third party applications, which I have very few of. I installed the new OS and it did take about 20 minutes once the phone initiated.

Two items of interest: The LED light would come on Red and stay on. It would only go off if I shut down and turned back on. After reading the forums, I removed the Color Pearl application and now it works fine.
The other issue is that I did not see the HTML email capability in my options. Again, after searching, I requested my service books from the BIS site, found in my email set up wizard. I received new books and now the option is there.

All in all, the new OS is great. I like the new phone functions and the calander changes. I would recommend upgrading to anyone with a 8100 phone. This version makes the BB look and act like a newer model.

No, each OS is specific to a device. You can use any carrier's OS on any like device. However, you can't use it on another device. 8100 only. There is a sticky thread for the latest 8130 OS.

Curious, what BIS site and where do you see the options for HTML? Mine is working, but I am just curious to see where you found these.

What OS is loaded on your BB? Look in Options >About and find the version number.

Did you enter that passkey on the other side of the connection as well?

Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don't let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Are you sure the S9 is in pairing mode? Refer to your instruction manual for instructions and the proper passcode. You might try plugging in the S9 to the charger and unpligging and trying again.

have you tried what I suggested several posts above for the camera? It would be worthwhile to know if this is a fix or if it was a fluke on my part.

Does anyone know if any of the betas that are currently out address this problem? I can not tell you how annoying this gets when you are trying to access something that requires account name and password or even go back and modify a google search...

The S9s are indeed a pain in the toocus to pair. Plug em in the charger for a few then take em off usually resets everything then hold the power button down forever till you get the blue light to come on not just the red once the blue light in there then pair with your pearl. The instructions that come with the S9s are wrong. I tried everyway possible to get them to pair till I held the damn button down forever then it worked for me. Don't have .37 I still have .10 of 4.5 so it should work in thery.
And a question for everyone is OS .18 the latest that still has the good working camera? I can't be with out this I use my camera every day just about.

I have tried most of the applicaitons, including the voice notes and camera. At first, it was slow, but I base this on the fact that it is new and I guess needed to organize my data. After the first use, it seems to work much better
