OK mods...So my largest question would be... in your opinion should I upload this new OS onto my BB 8100 on AT&T? I don't pretend to be a BB expert and need some solid, sound advice. Newer doesn't always mean better and I dont' want to mess my baby up.

While I am not on ATT, am on Rogers, I think the upgrade is great! Color pearl doesn't work and neither does softreset or today plus theme but so what this is minor compared to what you get. I spend most of my time doing emails so those enhancements are great for me as is the enhanced browsing. Camera doesn't work well but I rarely have used it. Haven't tried the music or video stuff yet. It isn't a big priority for me. .

Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again

It's a waste of time IMO, camera doesn't work as previously stated, its kind of slow, it did not work on 8100 w/out many reboots...honestly should still be a beta version...I guess vodafone couldn't get any worse so they released it.

i've upgraded mine but to .52

it was slow at first but after reading all the menus etc. its smooth.
i think 4.5 is like vista on pentium 3 (pearl). but we'll see if RIM will fix it
camera is a big issue right now specially if you want to take a pic and send.

at least the multi-tap issue was fixed

edit: moto ht820 works awesome!
no reboot/freezing yet but I dunno if I want to restart it just to see if it still slows down at start-up.

I have the same issue. .52 is great, except for the camera.

wow, I was about to post link to 4.5.0.52 (found it after deep web searching), but it will not make any good, I guess.
Do you recommend me to use this new OS version?

You probably need to remove your Media Card, and reformat it in OS 4.5, read the sticky note in our Media Section about that issue.

So my camera contrast seems fixed but now when I try to MMS a photo to someone it seems to lock up and won't send. If I send it as email that has been successful.

I realize this topic is kinda old, but I found it using google. If this has been answered somewhere else, I apologize. I noticed that it said this OS has had known issues with the beta testing on T-Mobile phones where the sim cards would fail within a week. I am going to put this update on my sisters phone, who is with T-Mobile, and I don't want anything to happen to the sim card for obvious reasons. Do you know if this is still a problem? Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to the forums. Don't use this OS. Use the one in the link below:
