Ah I have done a good few models before. I had the Berry backed up before I started, so saved a few minutes by skipping that also and its well on the way. Almost finished now. Just loading applications
Well...technically....the Desktop Manager will load the OS to the device--if the OS is also installed along with Desktop Manager. Desktop Manager is what does the backup, load and restore of the OS. But it needs the OS installed in order to load the OS.
As a matter of interest, I remember checking this before and there didnt seem to be a fix. Just wondering if anybody conquered it since. My Berry is O2 and has an O2 splash page at startup, likewise with other networks..... I don't want to change this one, but I did have an 8100 which was Vodafone Ireland and unlocked and working fine with the O2 sim, but was wondering is there any way to remove the Vodafone splash and replace it with O2, or even a generic Blackberry screen?
Sorry for taking over this thread with a "relatively" unrelated discussion

Thanks to all who replied and the good news is I have finally finished and restored, so its 2:47am here now and time to go check out the new OS ;)
