Default New SIM Card, now nothing works.

Cellular One is my service provider, and I went in yesterday evening because even in my home area, my phone would often show " extended area" and then not send text messages. It would say " network out of order". Anyway, Yesterday, the phone store gave me a new SIM card, but now the phone doesn't work at all. It has full service, says "Cellular one" at the top, but all calls fail, and it says " protocol error' when I try to send text messages, I can't recieve texts or calls either.

Any Ideas?

Go back to the store and make sure they didnt mistype the SIM number when updating your account. OR call customer care from another device.

Thanks for the help. It's a bit complicated, because Cellular One is merging with ATT, This took place at the ATT store, and they don't even have to "type" anything, they scanned the new SIM card with a bar code scanner, put it in, they were done with it. I don't have cell phone service at my house, will calling customer care be beneficial if the phone i need help with doesn't have service?

Usually you need to troubleshoot the device with them on the phone. Go into options SIM card and see if the SIM number shows properly. Also have you tried to do abattery pull?

Yes, did the soft reset quite a few times. Call customer service and they did a "service update" on the phone and it seems to be working now. Thanks for helping, let's just hope it continues working.
