Default 8120 uma issues tmo - just me?

Please Login to Remove!

So, I have had this for awhile now and constantly notice problems with the wifi of this device. Before anyone gives me suggestions on settings and what not - trust me - they are what they should be.

I have wireless in my house and notice that the phone constantly goes on and off uma. I could be sitting at my desk 5 feet away from the router or 20 feet away - doesnt matter. Also, when it actually is on UMA when I try to make calls it will fail most of the time. This was one of the main reasons I bought this phone (wifi abilities) but so far it seems as though its hit and miss as far as working.

Is this a known problem with the tmo os? I have tried the newer 4.5 betas only to notice the same issues for the most part.

Well, obviously, something is not as it should be. It's usually a router issue. What kind of router are you using? Does UMA work ok at Starbucks?

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

That doesn't mean that your BB will work ok. Check www.blackberryfaq.com and look in the wifi/uma section for settings for the BB. I'm not familiar with that router. As I stated before, check it at Starbucks (or another Tmo hotspot) and see if it works there. If it does then you know its your router/isp.
