sounds like this might have been a low memory issue, but never had one before. i have over the past 3 maybe 4 months decided to not erase any text messages. this morning i sent and received some, but when i missed that first call it deleted all but the blackberry registration text and the past 5 messages as well as the call log history. memory was not an issue i thought as it had not popped up with any warnings. i was actually tryign to see how many i could keep in the phone before i had to delete. any additional help/reasoning would be nice.

Scott

oh, good luck with it. They are gone, if you don't have a backup.

There is a way to dump the backup IPD file and extract what you need from it, see ABC Amber IPD application

Sbiker21, if you follow the steps to free up memory in your BB and monitor it (menu>options>Status) and do a weekly battery pull you will have tons of room for Text messages. I have about 14,000 emails and 8,000 text messages on my device.

Once you follow the link to free memory it will make room for your text and keep you from having them dumped.

Good Luck and sorry for your loss!

The one in the first reply to your message (From JSanders) it's the one at the bottom.

You are welcome! It would be fun for you to write down your file free now. Menu>Options>Status (file free) and then record it again after you are done. You will be amazed! It's a great thread!
