Reset Phone/Wipe it clean
 

How do I reset the phone to wipe everything clean???

Options >Security Options >General Settings. Hit menu key and select "Wipe Handheld."

That will remove all your data off of it leaving just the OS.

That is by far the easiest method. You can also use JL commander in JC's signature to wipe the device as well.

JL_Cmder will wipe the entire device, OS and all. It's not usually required unless there is a problem with the device.

True, but it is an option. I have used it many a time when changing devices or OS's

I wiped my BB Pearl 8100 using the JL_CMDER. Now the device won't connect to the Destop Manager. I see BlackBerry pop up when I plug it into the pc. Any ideas on what I can do to get the OS back on the BB Pearl? Help I have a brick at this point.

Why did you wipe the device?

If you already have the OS installed to your computer just plug it in and open DM and then run application loader. It will detect the device when you run app loader.

I was trying to wipe the IT policy so my wife could use it. I have the OS on my pc but when I try to run the app loader it tells me it can't detect the device.

I GOT IT. I went to the AppLoader directory on my pc and executed from there and it picked it up and installed the OS from there.

JL comm would not connect for me, i followed directions when it wont connect and in dos it sez file does not exisist when i try to execute from there. any event i tried multiple time and nothing. if you delete os from aplication menu in your BB is that not the same thing, 1st wipe clean then delete os ?
