Seems like my 8130 pearl is always using so much memory. I've cleared the history/cache, and usually will close out all of the programs that are allowed to be closed. How come the phone still uses so much memory?

Is there any way to make it use the SD chip for programs instead? I want to run a program that uses a lot of memory and will freeze after a minute of running because the lack of memory wins.

Any way to work around this? or must I completely uninstall programs to gain back some memory?

You can't use the card for apps.

A while back I went through the how to to gain some memory, but i'm not sure it did a ton. I will give it another try, thanks!

Another question, I haven't updated the software since I got it many months ago from Verizon. Should I be doing an OS update at all? Does the Desktop Manager check for this, or must I do it manually?

Most 8130 users end up with about 15MB free afterward. The 8130 has lots of junk.

Yep. Check Options >Status for file free.

However, your 8330 has 96Mb of internal memory so it's not as much of an issue as the older 64MB devices.
