Exclamation Where did BB Browser go? After OS upgrade.

Please Login to Remove!

So I upgraded today to the latest OS for my 8130 (on Verizon). Everything seemed to go smoothly. However, when it was all said and done, I had no more BB web browser. On the opening screen is BB Maps in its place?

I tried a battery out reset and nothing.

I looked under Options->Advanced->Applications and it doesn't show there.

I tried through DM 4.3 to load applications and it doesn't even show as an option.

So I'm a little lost. Luckily I still have Opera installed, but I would like to have the BB one too.

Any thoughts on what is going on?

This is a frequent and known issue with upgrading to 4.5. Resend your service books from your BIS and you should be good to go.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I had to downgrade back with the beta I was using where I had the same problem.

A VZW user on another thread stated that VZW in general had a missing browser issue on some devices today. Personally, I am not affected but you may want to check with the carrier.

Unfortunately, I didn't upgrade to 4.5. I did this one:
4.3.0.203
# Applications: 4.3.0.127
# Software Platform: 3.1.0.73

I tried going to the Verizon BIS site though BB. But when I try to register with my device pin and such it tells me that I can't do it from a computer bowser and need to instead use my BB browser.

I did find that Alt-Esc can get me to the Browser, but it says I need my service books and to contact my service provider...Is there a way from the phone to re-request those? I thought I did that once upon a time, but I can't seem to figure out how?

Help?

But as was also suggested, their blanket browser issue may be caused by so many users having this issue after upgrading. It is possible there is a different issue happening though.

Try this; options>advanced options>host routing table (check if you have anything in there.) Click register and you should pick them up.
