Default Would I be able to do this?

Please Login to Remove!

I got the BB 1830 and I just bought it a week a go or so, but i got it without the data plan. So, because I have a wifi spot by my house, would I be able to "trade" my phone for a BB 1820, because that has wifi. Should I call up Sprint for this or could I just do it by myself? If I could how would it work just trade sim cards?

Thanks for the help.

Sprint doesn't have an 8120. Even if you had the 8120, there's still a lot you can't do without the data plan. Just put the data plan on your 8130, you'll be much happier.

There is no way to make an 8130 into an 8120. Also, there is no sim card on any CDMA device, including the 8130. An 8130 will always be an 8130 and it will never have wifi.

Well, what about an unlocked phone or something? Cause I have seen a couple, I think, T-mobile 1820s, could I trade for those and some how unlock it or mabey trade for an already unlocked one?

yes, but none of them will work on Sprint. You'd need to switch providers. You still won't get email or be able to use apps that require internet access with only wifi, anyway.

SIM doesnt have anything to do with CDMA. That device is both CDMA and GSM. GSM uses the SIM, CDMA does not.

i.e., the CDMA part does not use a SIM.
