Default pearl deleting all recent calls/messages - 07-02-2008, 10:18 AM

I recently purchased a Blackberry pearl from Sprint and I've been having this problem ever since I got it.

About every two weeks the phone deletes all of my recent calls and all of my e-mails/text messages except the messages I received on the first day I got the phone.

I got a phone call today and the phone said I had a missed call and a missed voice mail but the voice mail did not save on the phone. This was just before I realized all of my recent calls had been deleted once again.

Is there anyway to retrieve the voicemail or find out who called me? (I'm expecting a call back about a job) And any way to fix this recurring problem?

Thanks

Glad to hear it is just because of the memory. Mine started doing that. Then I found out that the phone started saving my pictures to the internal memory instead of my memory card after I pulled the battery. Moved all the pics and it seems to be good now.

Wirelessly posted

One thing I have been doing lately is checking the Options>Status to see what my free memory is. If I go under 7 or 8MB I do a soft reset.

I have been able to keep my phone log and SMS messages for almost two weeks this time.

Hopefully you know about the "soft reset" program, every pearl owner should have it.

As you have seen, it is just a memory issue. I finally had to get a microSD card for mine in order to solve the problem. This was after a few times dealing with Verizon help desk about the problem. After my last call the tech told me about the memory issue - apparently it's an issue with the Pearl phones - and I went to the store and got the memory card. All has been great since then. It's too bad that you need to add memory to the phone if you really plan to use it to full capabilities. Great phone otherwise.
