Blackberry wont start up, help please..

That looks to be a 507 error, meaning you do not have an operating system on your device. You will need to install one.

a problem downloading a OS mabie?? just taking a shot.

i get the same error, had to reinstall desktop v4.5 software and my service provider's (vodafone) OS v4.5 too to go along with it.

well... I'm having the same problem. I was upgrading to 4.5 from 4.2 and let it go like any other OS install/upgrade. Then.. it said it failed. Sucks... I'm sure i've lost ALL of my numbers.

I'm at a 507 screen, No OS... I load up desktop manager, it sees the blackberry but does not prompt to install the OS. When i click on Application loader, it see's my blackberry, ask for password to connect, I type my password but it times out and says it cannot connect...

Any suggestions?

Also, Any idea where the backup was stored when it did try to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5? I would love to get my address book back ugh.

i already have an OS installed on my PC, i'm aware that the OS is wiped, I deleted vender.xml already. When I connect my blackberry and initiate the loader and tell it to load the OS, it fails to connect to the blackberry to start the process... This is on Vista, on my laptop, whenever I try this, it causes the blackberry to reboot over and over.

as far as not being able to connect, i think its because i have a password on my blackberry

btw, before you guys thing i'm some nub or something, I'm just trying to keep it simple as far as what my problem is. I'm an IT pro like i'm sure many of you are as well and sometimes we get lazy when it comes to explaning things lol.

I believe I figured it out, right now it seems to be loading and progress is being made (I used JL Cmder)


Now, do any of you know where that backup got stored or where the default directory for storing backups is located?

Mine all go to "My Documents" and will be called something like "LoaderBackup-(2008-07-05)"
