is it possiple to delete the browser application on a 8130 pearl to prevent internet use and maintain email capabilities?

On a BES system, yes. On a personal BIS setup, I do not believe so.

Hey JS, I realize if service books are resent they will come back but can't the OP delete the service books for the browser to disable it?

Yea, sure. But they don't have to be "resent" for the browser to pop back up, just turning the device on or off or out of the blue they can come back.

Is there anything I can do to limit the pearl to email only on a BIS?

You can try and hide the application. It will not be visible on the screen until you toggle back to show all...
