Default So is 4.5.0.52 / 4.5.0.37 vodafone.de worth it on a 8100?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

After reading quite a bit of posts about 4.5.0.52 / 4.5.0.37 vodafone.de version of the OS.

Am I right to say that this specific version is unstable? and not worth installing unless one wants to test it out...

I just haven't read anything which is overly positive about it...especially reading about T-mobile sim cards going bezerk on the beta builds...

And am I to presume that the correct action is to wait for a better build to get released..

Please share your thoughts and do let me know

thanks,

-n

PS - I really need to see html emails on my blackberry pearl :P

There are quite a few people using it on the 8100. I wouldn't say don't use it. I'd just say use it with some caution. Most of the damaged sim cards were on 8320's.

Since you said - most - there is a still a chance for this version can mess up a T-mobile sim card....

It boggles my mind on how a software messes up the sim card...

Why is that I don't see any issues with Rogers 4.2.1.109?...

It may be "officially released" but it was quite buggy. I'm with NJB...I'd consider it "Beta Code."

Thanks guys,

I will stick with the stable latest Rogers 4.2 code for now...I do not have the time or the energy to deal with beta code...I need phone to be fully functional...

Till I hear tons of positive glaring reviews/comments on latest OS, I will then upgrade.

cheers

I definitely feel its buggy - freezing and some long waittimes

pros are bluetooth stereo n, nicer media player , and generally improved fonts and docs to go

I like the OS overall, though the camera issue leaves something to be desired. But that is really the only issue I have with it. Hopefully future builds will correct this.

Wirelessly posted

There are 3 glaring oroblems for me: The camera is terrible, the entry of text in the browser is flakey, and sound volume is too low. However, there is much to recommend it such as HTML emails (didn't know how much I needed it), native document attachments, Docs-to-Go, and A2DP. I'm hoping for a better build, but I wouldn't go back.
