Default Get a new SIM card and UMA stops working? - 07-08-2008, 01:54 PM

What could cause this and how do I fix it? My sim card died on me last night and I just replaced it with a new one... but now UMA doesn't work on my phone. What gives?

Thanks.

BTW, Blackberry Pearl 8120 w/ TMO

resend your service books. go top options > advanced > service books delete them all but provisioning. then go to options > advanced > HRT

hit menu and then register then try to reconnect after a battery pull

Delete all of those? Is that ok?
Does that delete all of my settings?

FYI TMO is also having UMA issues and that may be your problem. They started yesterday and more people are seeing them today.

Options > Wi-Fi Conections > Press the Application Button, Choose Wi-Fi Diagnostics

Scroll down and look under UMA

Within maybe a mile or two, yeah. But I'm at my house - trying to use my personal AP.

Some of us already tried at Starbucks and were successful. Whatever is going on, I have literally put in hours today to see if it could be fixed: at least 4 CS techs, a zillion battery pulls, wipes, and reloading OS. Nada! So, I think it is just a matter of waiting to see if T-Mobile is going to figure it out. My husband's phone was having trouble connecting, but each time finally managed to connect fine...until I swapped out SIM cards with him. I don't know if the problem got worse just at that moment or not, but it took forever for me to get UMA back on his Samsung and then it didn't appear to be anything in particular that I did. It kind of came and went until we put it down for the night. MY BB is just totally out of it when it comes to UMA. I can connect to my home network and surf the Internet; I just can't make any Wi-Fi calls. I give up for today and hope that the morning will bring back the UMA on my phone.

What ISP are you guys using? If it works fine at a Starbuck's that kind of rules out T-Mobile's end and points to the ISP.

Here is a list of Error Codes.

Wifi / UMA Error Codes - BlackBerryFAQ

EDIT: I believe mines is a tmo problem and not an ISP problem because my laptop connects fine.

Personally, I'm just a little confused because it was working fine earlier this morning. I had the full UMA signal and now it just stopped... What gives? :(
