Question How to move through multiple text messages... - 07-08-2008, 06:56 PM

OK... I did do some searching... and I'm sure the answer is so easy that I'll feel dumb... but I'm frustrated enough now that I just need to ask...

my long winded friends send me texts that are multiple texts (like 3-5 of them)... how do I easily continue reading them???? The way I do it now is I read the fist, then hit the Escape/Back button to get to back to the Messages folder, then select the next one to read and repeat... there's got to be some key stroke to move from one new text to the next without having to go back to the folder...

Someone please enlighten me (feel free to just send a link to the thread I know I must have missed)...

Thanks so much!!
SC

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000 4.6.0.67)

N is next, P is previous.

damn, would be very sweet if it were that simple! I thought I had read that on one of the threads too, but that doesn't work.

In text (the SMS and MMS Folder) if I'm in a message and I click on N it does nothing. If I press and hold N then it asks me if I want to set a speed dial for 8. If I press P then it takes me to my address book, and looks like it wants to create a new SMS text to send.

I checked it out in the e-mail folders... and there if I hit N it seems to move the cursor down the page of the e-mail, one line at a time. If I press P in that folder it wants to Forward that e-mail and asks me who I want to send it to.

Any other suggestions?? I'm glad I at least didn't get a bunch of "just do this dumbass" comments, lol! That's the good news.

Do you need to know anything else about my device? It's a brand new Pearl 8110 (three days old). So I'm assuming it's the latest of everything. Obviously I separated my e- mail and text messages into different folders.

Thanks for the suggestion, what should I try next? OH, and I've already restarted, and even reset the device as well- with no difference.

N and P are for QWERTY devices. On the Pearl, try 6/J/K button for next message and 4/D/F button for previous message.
