Default Themes with seperate Email and Text. - 07-09-2008, 06:11 AM

Hi

I have a BB 8100 on Vodafone. I currently use the vodafone default theme as it is the only one I have come accross that has a seperate section on the homepage / today screen that list email and text/mms alerts seperatley, all the rest I have come accross just have a "messages" section for all message types.

Does anyone know of a any decent themes that list seperate email and sms/mms alerts on the homepage / today screen?

Many thanks

Isn't it a feature that you can have on any theme by setting your BB to have speparate SMS and Email inboxes? Go to Messages-> Options -> general Options -> there's an option for Email and SMS Inboxes - you can set to Separate, Combined or Theme Controlled. I have mine set to Separate.

Hi.

Thanks for replying, but I'm not sure that this will solve my conundrum, I already have seperate inboxes for different messages.

My vodafone homescreen looks like this, apologies for the format, but I can't take a screen shot:

----------------------------------
|Voicemail
|Call log
|
|Email [1 unread]
|12:36pm Test
|Text/Media Messages [1 unread]
|12:36pm Test
|
|Calendar
|10/7 Wash my feet
|11/7 Appointment at VD clinic
-----------------------------------

The above is assuming I have sent an email and a text both called "test"
As you can see, next to email it says "1 unread" and below it is the subject or the first few characters of message body if no subject. The same for the text / media message section of the homescreen.

So for example I have 4 options on my homescreen I can scroll down to and access:

1: Email "[1 unread]" - click to access the email inbox
2: Test - click to read test email
3: Text/Media Messages [1 unread] - Click to access sms/mms inbox
4: Test - click to read test sms

So what I can do is access the above 4 directly from my homescreen. All I am after is some interesting themes that have the same sort of functionality.

I hope this makes sense?............

Thanks again

Wirelessly posted

There are a few out there that have them seperated on the today screen, not many but you will just have to look. Blueroomsolution.com has a few on there that I saw this morning and if you dig deeper in the site you'll find more.

You can also make them yourself if you feel like you would want to. Or ask a theme builder to see if they would want to. Most of the today screen themes that I've made for myself I keep them together cause that's house I keep my inbox cause it's easier but just search the theme websites and see what you can find. Another website is themes4bb too

That's a theme feature I always want and have a hard time finding. The Vodafone theme is the only carrier theme that separates SMS and Email on the homescreen.

If you don't mind spending money on a theme, check out the "Inspired 9000" theme by JC Designs (available at the Crackberry.com store...search for "Inspired 9000"). It's kind of pricey at $7, but it's nice if you're looking for a today-style theme that has SMS on the homescreen.

By the way, it only works properly if you have your SMS and Email inboxes set to separate (Messages -> Options -> General Options -> SMS and Email Inboxes -> Separate).

This setting is available in Plazmic 4.3.1 or 4.5. I have not seen many with it at all however.
