Default Blackberry won't start or connect to PC

Please Login to Remove!

Before you say search the forums, I have and still can't find a solution to my exact problem.
I have a Blackberry 8100 from T-Mobile that's not very old. The Blackberry has a little red light in the upper right hand corner that flashes and the Blackberry will not show anything on the screen. I connected it to a charger to see if perhaps that was the issue, to no avail. I have connected it to my PC and when I connect it the light continues flashing every once in a while and the computer will get the "New device Connected" sound and then get the "Device disconnected" sound every few seconds (It continues forever).
I have tried opening desktop manager and trying to connect my device via the Connection Settings window, again to no avail.

Does anyone know of anything I can do or is this device pretty much a brick now?

Thanks.

Have you tried either of these two methods to revive the device?

I've tried both. The first one doesn't work, it won't find the device at all. The second one gets through the first step of the install, then when it tries to disconnect and reinitialize the device it won't connect again. It starts the Device connected/Device disconnected loop.
