Default att mms not working - 07-12-2008, 02:42 PM

alright, I've had my pearl for awhile now, and i've not been able to do any sort of MMS messaging. People can't send me any media, and likewise i can't send out any media. I have at&t, and the unlimited messaging plan that includes all types of messages, but all the threads i've seen on here concern tmobile, or are pretty old (and thus, i figure outdated).

Anyone have any advice?

I've also not been able to send MMS via AT&T on my 8120, but I've only tried a couple of times.

I think you have to have a data plan for AT&T. I could be wrong though as I have no experience with them, only what I've seen on the boards.

Call 'em up (ATT). Could be that they didn't set up your account right even though it says you have MMS on your receipt/bill. They can fix it quick (once you get to talk to someone that is).

Well I just got ATT today and on my 8110 I don't have a problem. That's something you will have to call ATT about. Could be your phone, could be your plan.

You do have to have the messaging plan and the data plan for the mms to work.... bummer but that is what I am told I had the data plan and mms and it worked fine, disc the data and now it doesn't work.

This is the one area I'm disappointed with my pearl and honestly like my old LG phone more! I'm with Telus though but they just don't support it for some reason with this phone. I've called them and gone into a Telus store about it and they just tell me I should be able to do it with my phone and then tell me I have to send them as emails which no one ever recieves and if someone sends me something I just get a link to a website to view it in which I can't seem to log into ever. =S

I know that this is an issue with the sprint blackberry's too. You have to send them as emails to the email server, and really that is just a pain. I made sure that ATT can do MMS before I witched from Sprint, and I couldn't be happier. Thank goodness for that 30 day tryout.

I do know that sprint is working on getting MMS working with their blackberry's, and it should be as simple as pushing some sb's down to people. I will let you know when I know though, since they always tell us stuff before its released to the public.

I'm having the same issue with my Alltel 8130, can't send or receive attachments via text, only email. And even then...99% of the attached I receive via e-mail don't even work, as if they're not there or something.

I called Alltel numerous times and keep getting told "RIM said they're almost done with the software update, should be another month"...and it's been 6months since my first call-in.

I called RIM the other day and they said "It's Alltel holding the update back, call them".

It's amazing how much they're willing to help us Blackberry owners out.
