More about GMAIL APP - unfortunately

Ok, I was tired of manually synching the Pearl to GMAIL so I succomed and installed the GMAIL app. NOW, how to you adjust the frequency of updates...it appears to take some time to announce new messages. Help!

If you are running the Gmail ap, there is no setting for the interval. It can take as much as 10 minutes for new mail to show up.

If you use your BIS email and configure Gmail, mail deliver will be nearly instant.

I used the GMail app for quite a while, but decided to switch to BIS for GMail, but set it up using the IMAP instructions on the Google site. Also done in anticpation of upgrading to OS 4.5xxx and HTML email.

It seems to work faster and it does not drain memory.

I tried the Gmail application. The only benefit seems to be being able to search your Gmail (that's not on your BB). But I do that when you have to from the browser interface http://gmail.com/xhtml
