Here are my issues so far after a few days using 4.5:

I get the constant resets with my micro SD card (did the reformat + delete dats, still no go)

When it does reset, my icons locations get reset (using the Dimension Today Plus theme)

No auto load of images in html emails

Had to reinstall RSA SecurID software and reimport tokens

One other ongoing gripe about Desktop Manager:

Why can't you have an easy option of 'do nothing' instead of downgrade or remove when you are adding apps? It works fine with OTA updates!

Tmo usually waits a bit and puts out a stable release, so I can't wait for that. HTML email is totally worth the small inconveniences so far.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

One or more of the files on the card is causing the reboot issue. I've seen it be videos. I would remove everything from the card and load individual folders one at a time until you find the folder that's causing the issue. Then you can narrow down to the individual file from there.

Looks like it was a few blueapple.mobi vids I was saving. At least they were better quality than the mobile youtube site. Thanks again for your help!

Default 4.5 theme? - 07-23-2008, 05:23 AM

Does a 'today plus" theme exist and work for 4.5.x on an 8120? I can't live without today+.

I had trouble using the posted link on the day the link was posted. The link worked later, so it seems to come and go.

Give the following a try, it seems to work.

Thanks.

Shall be installing this when it eventually finishes downloading. RIM's servers are slooooow.

And on the subject of software updates, I went to check the o2 software page (cuz they are speshul and like to do things their own way) and saw they'd updated their os for the 8120. I didn't pay much attention to the version number and just saw 0.94 at the end of the file name. Holy cr*p, even newer software than on this thread, I thought... until I saw the '4.3.' bit at the beginning and rofl'd, lmao'd and pmsl'd etc. etc.

O2 have had everyone waiting months only to go from 4.3.0.94 from 4.3.0.67. In the real world, everyone else is on 4.5

I used it with 4.5, except after every reboot, my icons were reset to the default location. I'm back to using the Today theme.

One other little issue for me, I get a 1 unread message indicator which will not go away unless I do a battery pull. Oh and also i've been getting an echo with voice calls.

Just updated - however I seem to be having issues with my LED. As soon as a message comes in the light stays solid instead of flashing. I checked the profiles to ensure that this could not be changed however they are all just set to flash if a message / notification comes through.

Any suggestions???

I've seen this if the "colorpearl" application is installed on 8100 devices. Also, I've seen this happen if Ringtone lighting is enabled. Check for that under Phone >Options >General Options >Ringtone Lighting: Off.

Thanks John. Removed the colorpearl application and everything seems to be working as it should be.

I'm a little confused...Your profile says 8300, you're posting in the 8120 forum and you have ColorPearl that only works on an 8100...

Default Links don't seem to go to ver 4.5 - 08-14-2008, 03:36 PM

RIM's site seems to have been revised and I can only get to:

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.3.0.135 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.3.0.135
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.3.0.72
Software Platform: 2.6.0.43
File name: 8120M_PBr4.3.0_rel135_PL2.6.0.43_A4.3.0.72_F100.ex e
File size: 106.24MB

Any alternative download sites for this?

TIA,

Kirk

When you are choosing your phone from the dropdown, Make sure you are choosing the one that says "BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone" instead of the one that says "BlackBerry 8120"

The dropdown on the page I am getting to does not have a selection for 8120 "Smartphone", just the 8120. Still looking for the correct site.

Thanks,

Kirk
