So how does one change the folder icons? I'm new to 4.5, nice improvement over 4.2
So after a second reboot the hourglassing re-appeared... but it looks like the problem is Google Mobile Updater. Each time you reboot it checks for app updates... ick.
Do you have a media card with music on it? It may just be scanning. I've seen it do that before. Just let it go. It will likely stop after a while.

So RIM doesn't control the betas? Carriers are free to release whichever beta they want? That's pretty poor Q&A control on their part...

But I'm glad it's finally been fixed... been way to long since I could take a pic with my phone...

Default Weird update - 07-17-2008, 07:26 PM

Guys,

I did (I believe) everything as I should. After the upgrade if I check the OS version is shows 4.5.0.52 not 4.5.0.75 is it right ? Everything else is ok. What am I missing ?

Thanks and sorry if it is a dumb question. I'm newbie and I'll improve.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Upgraded and it screwed up all my data services and everything that relies on it. Attachments, mapping apps, internet access. The lot. Went back to .37 and all is well.

I am on Rogers and will have to live with the web data entry glitch for now.

That's right. it's the app version that counts (52), which is what you see if you go to your BB's Options, About, not the package version (75).

I tried the vodafone version of this OS and it kept rebooting and the camera was wonky, and it threw up random java errors. So i dropped back to 4.2. Tonite I installed this TIM OS 4.5 version, thinking that lightning can't strike twice and it keeps rebooting, I keep seeing hourglasses, the BB slows to a crawl, I see the html mail options and have enabled them but I still see raw html code in my messages and there's no 'get images' option in the menu. I would report on whether the camera is working if only the BB would stop rebooting and hourglassing long enough to check the camera. Oh wow!, the BB stopped its conniption long enough to check the camera, and yes the camera is dark in a brightly lit room. This OS is not providing much in the way of confidence. Should I just wipe the BB clean w/ JL_CMDR and reinstall clean?

This adventure turned out to be a Mark 1 Mod 1 goat*&#$!!!

First of all thanks.

Well I realize that if I rebooted it the icons that I've hidden shows up again. Is it a bug ?

Thanks

Has anyone noticed that you have to hold the Pearl down longer to select things, or use it as enter? I find myself hitting the Pearl, and nothing happens because I didn't hold it down long enough. Seems to have started only with this firmware version too...

I just realized that if you press space twice on an email no period is added. Have you experienced the same ?
