Default so many problems and i just got the phone three days ago! - 07-17-2008, 01:26 AM

hello!

i recently traded my shadow for a blackberry pearl. i am using a mac, version 10.4.11. i tried to sync to my blackberry using pocketmac. when i tried to install a utility (colorpearl. silly, i know! i had no idea how much it would screw with my phone.) when i tired to install it, it not only crashed my computer, but reset my phone as well. when i turned my phone on again, the trackball was all sorts of weird discolored, and it no longer vibrated! this is terrible! i am very frustrated, because nothing seems to work. i tried hard resets but no dice.

i'm sorry if this is like, an easy problem or i am just being ridiculious. i'm even more sorry if this issue has already been addressed, but i couldn't seem to find anything on any site! i feel so silly.

please help? maybe?

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

You may need to wipe the device using jl_cmder then reload the OS

You will need a PC to do this

Complete directions can be found in the blackberryFAQ section

If you just got it three days ago, you should take the phone back and exchange it for a new one. I think that tmobile has a thirty day return policy. If they don't, then go with ATT or Verizon. Just don't go with sprint if you want to MMS right now. Sorry you're having so much trouble! Most of us don't, but sometimes someone will get a lemon

Sprint CSR... ATT blackberry... IT'S ON!

I got my pearl 1 wk ago For the most part working great but Wow what a memory hog! What I don't get is why is the internal memory under status showing 50 MB file total and 13 MB file free with only 600 addresses and 100 calendar items on the phone? Shouldn't I start out with close to 64MB available. I have a medical app that is 9MB in size and when loaded with just the store available apps, causes the phone to lock up and shows 0MB available?? What's going on. ?? I've already wiped the phone and reloaded the store apps but even w/o the medical app theres only 13 MB available to play with. Help!!

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

It largely depends on what other apps you have loaded as well as how many pics, songs etc you have stored in device memory. A SD card will allow you to store vids, music and pics without usuing up Device memory.

If you have OS 4.5 color pearl doesn't work. You need to delete it!

I have never decided on a phone based on the camera quality. Thats like choosing a car based on the stereo.
