Exclamation Help Help Help!! Trying To Backup Isnt Working!! - 07-23-2008, 04:55 PM

ok so i got a blackberry pearl 8100... latest version... everytime i try to back it up, on my computer scrreen it goes upto recieving profiles and then a error window pops up.. " The data was not recognized by the device." and then it just stops ..please anyone helpp!!!

I assume you have DM installed. Do you also have the correct BB OS installed on your PC?

You may also want to check what is being backed up. This can be seen in DM

i installed the DM from the cd that came with the box... tried it again and it did the same thing!... do u know what can be the problem?

I dont know if this is the same problem, but I was having an issue similar to this. When ever I tried to backup my device, it would error out on the profile database. To fix it you can either go in to advance and add everything except the profile database, or used the advanced screen to "Clear" the profile database back to default which is what I did. I only had one or two custom ringtones so it's easy for me to change it after back up.
