Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile 8100)

Disregard my comments about the backlight coming on when a message is received. Turns out it has nothing to do with the OS. It had to do with a new option in pocket day beta that I loaded after the OS upgrade, and I just now found.

It requires a service book in order to work. Some carriers don't send the service book. Go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table. Hit menu and select Register Now.

The 8100 does not support video recording. All the other models do, though.

The phone will be slow for a while, while it scans the media card. Once it's done with that it will speed up some.

yes, the 8310 will get a video recorder (as long as you have a media card inserted.)

It needs the service book. No service book, no BBMaps. Just like the browser.

I don't know for every carrier, but some carriers don't send it at all. I can't recall if Rogers is one of them. I know AT&T users can't use the new BBMaps.

Do you have a BBMaps service book? Look in Options >Advanced Options >Service Book.

Just wanted to say thanks, and great find. Been away for a little while, just found out about 5.2 at work, yesterday, came home to try it, and to my surprise(and delight), found .55. Great early B-Day present 4 me, I have my camera back, and all issues I had with .37 are gone. I love it.
