same here, but even during the day it seems that emails take much longer to get to the BB... it's very annoying I hope someone finds a fix

Scroll down to Blackberry Firmware and find the 8100.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8100:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

Note: Preloaded wallpapers and custom folder icons are not included in this release.

Note: ColorPearl application is NOT compatible with OS 4.5. Please remove any trackball color applications you have installed if you load OS 4.5. Failure to remove ColorPearl will cause the notification LED come on and stay on steady until a battery pull.
i am downloading the new descktop manager, but i dont know where is the link to download the new os file, pls help

No need to delete your post. Someone may have had the same question.

No, the 8100 cannot record video.

Vid Recording was included in OS 4.5 for many models, but with the 8100 it is apparently a hardware restriction.

The issue I was having with emails being delayed at night appears to have subsided. It happened for the first few days I had the OS but over the last couple of days I've had no delays of emails as far as I can tell.

And John Clark and the other moderators here, it must be kinda hard to have to repeat the same information/answer over and over within the same thread. Thanks for the help nonetheless.

I'm basically in love with the new OS.. its beautiful and fun

The only thing I have found so far that I don't like is the Standby Mode.
It used to just stay locked until you pressed the mute key again..
now pressing the green call button, menu, back, and red end call/power buttons it comes on saying "In standby mode. Press the Mute key to exit standby mode."

I prefer to just have it locked, but oh well, what can you do?

P.S. i loooove the black..

Well I've been running OS 4.5.0.55 for a couple of days and overall I love it.
While others are complaining that there e-mail seems to be taking longer to get to them, I'm finding ther opposite. I find my e-mail will arrrive on the BB before the desktop a lot of the time.

My only complaint is I find the device now really slow to respond some times. I'll click the Blackberry Button to go to the list of apps, and it will hang for quite sometime. It will get there eventually.. just slowly.

I don't know if anyone has noticed any issues when connecting the already updated phone to the DM. As soon as the DM loads and my PC recognizes my phone, I get the following message:

"Updated versions of the applications listed below are available for your device.

BB Core 4.5.0 Core Applications
Basque Language Support

Update Now Cancel"

Of course I could just hit cancel every time I load the DM as I did the first couple of times I need to add media to my phone. But when I needed to add a new program, it goes through the Add/Delete programs wizard and it continues to update the OS Core Applications and the Basque Language support. I actually chose to disable/delete the Basque language support but the next time I connect my phone the same message will come up.

Now I had a very similar issue with the Documents to Go software as the DM continued to downgrade D2G (to the version without Excel support) and it didn't give me an option to skip that request. I found a fix on another website that simply needed me to rename a particular file and the issue disappeared. I wonder if something similar is needed to fix the issue I mentioned above? Anyone have any suggestions?
