Default Device manger still needed to run?

Just installed Desktop Manger 4.5, do I still need to have Blackberry Device Manger running?

Blackberry 8120: 09 - Present
Blackberry 8100: 06 - 09

Yes, Device Manager is the drivers that allow the phone to connect via USB or Bluetooth.

As I understand it DM include device manager. They should both load up when you load DM.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again
