I hate to ask but ever since I can remember I hate to pay for software! Is there any way to get ziplorer without paying? I started on the net as a satelite hacker (retired) and I don't own a pc even. So can I get this file OTA?

Don't expect an answer to this one.

This a legitimate forum which doesn't condone hacking or getting something for which you are not entitled to.

Just as an FYI there is an OTA link on the ziplorer site but it appears as though you have to pay the 16.95 to get to it. This seems to be a reasonable price if this is something you really need/want.

If you really need it, $16 is not that expensive. Though, it is a shame that they do not offer Demo or Trial versions...

I understand this site is legit and it appears to be a great one! I have paid for a lot of stuff in my time but I'm sure many of us prefer to share it rather than everyone pay. As I said I don't involve myself in hackin anymore. 16 bucks is fair but I'm not sure if it even works. I'm new with this BB stuff and I feel RIM should offer an extraction file for their product. I will have me a new pc soon so I will have more options.I'm also a new father and can't afford to take a 16 dollar chance at the moment! I look forward to talkin to yall in the future since I have this new hobby! Thanks for the replies and this is truly a great site. Jj

If you can upgrade to the new OS 4.5, I would do so. It has native zip support for viewing documents, video, and pictures.

Thank you for the info. I tried to register on the BB site and for some reason when I get to the part where it asks for my location, I get stuck there.I try to click the dropdown box to select USA, and it says "loading" and won't go any further. Thus I can't register on the site, not with my BB anyway. Thanks again.

You will need a PC for upgrading your OS. Upgrades can't be done OTA.

You are back to paying for the ziplorer application.

I'm running 4.3. I'm not sure I want to upgrade. Are there any advantages other than the ability to open .zip files? I have an 8110 by the way.

Other than what's listed on this site, no I can't tell ya. I'm still using 4.2.2.180 at the moment.

Here are some of the notable upgrades for the 8100. I will assume it is the same for the 8110

With respect to the OS references the latest one in the sticky pa OS 4.5.xxx.55. And can be downloaded from the links in the thread. If you follow the posts you can see the advantages/disadvantages of upgrading and what features you get.3 or 4 of the notables for the 8100 is resident spellcheck, docs to go and stereo sound, as well as a better media manager. At the end of the day it is your call!!
