Default What OS does not have these issues? (or are there ways to fix them?)

Please Login to Remove!

A friend recently upgraded to 4.5.0.52 (on my recommendation) and now she is having these issues:

1. Color Pearl no longer works, it is still there in the options menu, but won't let you enable it.

2. The LED stays a solid red when coverage indicator is turned off.

3. "Compose" shortcut is to compose an Email not a SMS as it was previously.

She is using an unlocked AT&T 8100 on Rogers Wireless.

Is there a OS that does not have these issues (it doesn't Need to be 4.5, but it would be best if it was), or is there anything she can do to fix them?

As per many posts and threads Colour pearl does not work with OS 4.5. It will also fix your led issue as well. Delete it immediately!! And the do a battery pull.

I can't answer the other issue as I don't use SMS or compose.

OS 4.2 will allow you use Colour but not upgrading to 4.5 just to have Colour pearl is, well silly, IMHO.

BTW OS 4.5.xxx.55 is the latest OS for the 8100.

Well that is (sort of) a fix for 1 and 2. Anyone know anything about 3?

Compose uses the last option used for that address. If you manually do a Compose SMS for an address, it will now become the default for that address. It's always worked that way.

That is the fix for 1 and 2. The developer can choose to update the software of this FREE program or you can see if one of the purchased products to light the trackball will work with 4.5.

Well that is a much better fix than the first option. I thought he meant colourizing the pearl didn't work in 4.5.

Does anyone know of any apps that will work on 4.5?

No it is Email ONLY.

If you select a contact with no email address it asks you if you want to call them, but does Not let you SMS them.

In its current form colorizing the pearl doesn't work in 4.5.
