Default BlackBerry Command Menu

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

I'm developing a J2ME app on the 8130. I'm following BB standard of putting all of the softkey commands in the blackberry command menu. In my app I do not want to repaint the screen while this menu is up as this causes it to flicker. If I could know when the menu is up I could easily prevent this, however, no keypress is generated nor command actions registered in the app. Is there an inherent signal that notifies when this menu is up or anyway you're aware of that could help me determine this state?

Thanks
Paul

Default Solution

In case anyone runs into this issue, you can call isShown on the current canvas. If there are device-native aspects that are currently on the screen, isShown will return false on the canvas you are using.
