Default Updating the OS

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a blackberry pearl 8100 (i say this, because i see some posts for 8130 here). I see talk about updating my "OS." I'm not completely sure what that is, but from what I understand, I go to options > about to figure out what my OS is. I think mine is 4.2.1.107. I went to the sticky thread at the top of this section and downloaded the 4.5 version and installed it. I opened desktop manager, and it checked for updates, but it says I don't have any updates. I don't ever remember updating my OS (i dont even know what it is). any help?

Sorry, i completely chose to neglect the directions (school habits :X) in the thread. I didn't delete the vendor.xml file and now it's updating fine.

If you follow the instructions here, will never face a problem during installation!
