it should prompt you, otherwise go to options>media card>menu>format

It won't prompt you to format the card. You'll have to do it manually. The card will work without formatting but I recommend formatting it as it adds all the folders, etc.

What other folders get added during the format? On my 8130, when I first inserted it into the BB, it automagically created several BB folders (for pix, music, ringtones, etc). Are there other folders I should be concerned with (or will the card work faster/better if formatted by my BB vs. the standard FAT it came with)? Just want to make sure there isn't a folder missing that may cause me problems down the line as I keep adding stuff to the card.
