For some reason i can no longer save numbers
AND all my old numbers/addresses are not accessable

however if i recieve an incoming the phone recognizes the number and displays the appropriate name

im aware of switching between the personal and business filters but both read empty regardless
i also have a 2gb card installed as well

Chances are your old numbers are on your SIM card. You can't see them right off the bat in the BlackBerry's address book. Instead you have to go to the address book, press the blackberry button, and select "SIM phonebook."

As for not being able to save numbers, I'm not quite sure what you can do about that. You just save contact info in the address book or make a new entry into your SIM card.

i actually figured out why the save wasnt working

however all my old numbers are still not visible

its not on the sim card, i checked the sim card addresses and theyre not there

Have you tried a battery pull? With the phone on, pull the battery for 30 seconds then reinstall and let it boot up.

What was the issue then?

I have exactly the same problem, when I go to my address book it says no addresses but if someone rings me there details come up also when I'm in the car and connected by bluetooth I can read my address book on the display on the dash, I also have some numbers on my sim card and I can read these but I've tried to save them to the phone and they won't save, anybody got any ideas.

omg just figured it out, I know you said you were aware of the filters and you had switched between business and personal but try unchecking both filters thats what I just did and hey presto all my contacts are back, see if you don't catergorise them at all and if either of the filter boxes are ticked they won't show up because they weren't orignally saved as business or personal. hopes this works for you.
