I was going to add a person to my address book and I like to format the number with parens, spaces and dashes.

However, when I select Alt+sym to bring up the symbols and then select the symbol, it just brings up the same screen again.

I have to press the trackball to clear the symbol screen.

Phone is 8100 Pearl on T-Mo US.

Anyone else?

Weird, mine types the correct symbol after selecting it. I'm also running 4.5.0.55. Have you tried a battery pull?

Ok, I was able to go back after creating the address book entry and I could modify it ok.

Try it by creating a new entry from a new number coming in to your phone.
