Yeh, I was in a toss up about using the Gauge control or a simple number input. I settled on the Gauge control because I was actually working on having it adjust the color of the ball live while you scrolled.

Also, I planned to have the background color of the Gauge actually be RED, GREEN, BLUE.

I am aware of that. I only monitor for the backlight to turn the ball on/off. Other applications that modify the light status could reset it but yes, when the backlight goes off then back on it will change to your set color.

I could add ability to monitor the phone but I'm not sure I want to do this as it would take some time. You should also be able to turn off that feature in the phone and it might work too.

The old ColorPearl app had this same issue. You just don't use Ringtone Lighting and BlingBall at the same time.

I haven't been able to pry the phones out of their hands to get this done yet but it really does help.

Go to Options >BlingBall Options. Click on the color listed at the top. It will give you the other color options. After you choose your color hit the escape key and save the settings. That's when the color will change.

Not sure how it's possible that the colors are any different. The led's are the same.

Wirelessly posted (8100 pearl)

Very very nice everything worked just perfect

Something I noticed once in awhile it seems like the white shuts off and the color is very bold I think its just my phone because once in a while when I didn't have a colored trackball it wouldn't light up when I was using the phone for whatever but sometimes it did

But once again thank you for your work

I think it would be cool to have a setting where the ball randomly changed colors always like a strobe feature don't know if that's possible or if battery life would be effected but just a cool sounding idea

When the color gets bold is when the white LED turns off slightly before the colored LED turns off. Thus, my suggestion of the black tape over the white LED.

Is hosting an OTA on geocities possible, I believe you can have 4.2MB per hour of download bandwith, and with the .cod file being 144kb thats about 240times an hour.
Just a thought.
Also, thanks again rgeorge! This program is awesome.

There are colored LED's underneat the trackball. There is also a white LED. When the white LED is on at the same time as the colored LED's it washes out the color of the colored LED. It just makes the color more vivid. The white LED comes on with the keyboard lighting.

You heard it before and here is it is again, Great Job!!! I loved this feature when I bought my pearl and now it is back. Feels like 4.5 is complete now. Covered the white LED with a tiny piece of electrical tape and away I go. It's working great! This is to cool man, Thank you.

None that I have seen (in the five min I have been playing with it ). I also installed on a 8100 w/ 4.5.0.52 and the only difference in installation was I had to reboot the 4.2 OS to get the blingball options under Options. 4.5 I didn't have to reboot.

Very odd that it would run on a 4.2 device! It was built with the 4.5 JDE and I could swear that if you built with the newer JDE it was not backward compatible.
