Does it matter? This one works great. I think he had plans of adding another feature or two but as far as doing what it says it does, it works great.

It may end up being like a Google app. Forever in beta.

Thumbs up Stayin' alive...Stayin' alive... - 10-29-2008, 08:02 PM

I upgraded the OS on my 8100 Pearl last night and the freaking red led light stayed on ALL DAY long today! Every single time I looked at my phone, it's all I could see...that stupid red light! I was truly getting ready to start pulling my hair out! I figured once I got home, I'd have to revert back to an older OS version! Low & behold...you've managed to keep me alive and kicking with the 4.5 OS by sharing the blingball app! I'm totally diggin' the disco option...not to mention, it goes ohh so very well with my stargazer theme!!! The whole set-up is uber-fantatic! Thanks a bunch!

Ah, ah, ah ahhh stayin' aliiiiiive!!

hi!
I have installed it and I am using the BLUE color for my BB, but I have noticed that when the keyboard is lighted on, the trackball is not that dark cool blue as it is when the keyboard is lighted off, so I would like to know if this is due of some particular keyboard let that might be covered with some black tape (and in this case please tell me which one is to tape) or if is fault of all of the keyboard leds.

thank you all.

If you read through the posts you'll see that's discussed already.

I downloaded this yesterday and I must say: I'm in love.

But, I'm obsessed with battery length (brightness always on shortest time on laptop, bb, etc, sleep after shortest possible time) and I wanted to know if this affects battery life at all?

Got a quick question.
Does using the disco ball selection decrease the battery life any significantly more than any other choice?

Peace,

I've read through the prior posts, but have a couple questions. I just updated the OS to 4.5.0.81. I get the impression that I only need to download the second file listed?

Is the 'battery pull' still a YMMV sort of issue? Having only owned my BB a couple weeks, I've not had to do this before. Is it removing the battery while the BB is on? Based on all the raves, I'm really looking forward to trying this out! Thanks much!

Removing the battery while the device is on is the best way to reboot the device. It's a good idea to do it once a week or so. It has to be done often after loading new applications.

It's not supported on 4.2. Some say it works on 4.2 but it's not supported. Why not just upgrade to 4.5?

NICE WORK GEORGE

i recently upgraded to 4.5 from 4.2 and couldent find another substitute for color pearl until now.

works great beta version has no flaws

i do have some suggestions though for the final release.

1. have the option to set the color of track ball when receiving SMS txts, phone calls, messages etc. i would love to have my track ball light up via disco when i get a phone call but having the disco option on in general is kind of an eye sore lol

2. also have the track ball flash on and off in an event of getting an SMS txt or a message instead of just having that stupid LED flash would be awsome

other than that you did an amazing job :]
