The files are posted, so all you have to do is put it on your computer and go from there

so i downloaded the app via the desktop manager, and i've done a battery pull. i have the blingball options under options and i can set and save the color no problem.. but nothing happens to my trackball color.... so... what am i doing wrong?

scratch that last post. ive got it into my phone. i can go into it and change the colors, but the track ball doesnt seem to change.

So is this program like dead now, or what's the deal? I am not gonna update my OS if I have to look at a dirty white trackball from now on. FYI I still use the old Colorball that I paid $5 for. Love it.

Will someone plz tell me how to down load this to my Pearl.....is there a direct link to type in? I see the zip file but when I use the broswer on my BB I cant find it..or do I down load to to my Desktop manager then put it on my BB??? PLZ HELP!

The zip file contains an alx and cod file. Use application loader to load it to your device.

The OTA version is gone.

I am really new to , but the link is not working for me either.

I thought the OTA version would be coming back soon but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've edited out the OTA link for now.

Come on, people! I realize that an OTA download is the easiest but there is a version attached in the first post that can be installed easily with Application Loader. It's jut not that difficult.

I've added another zip file to the attachments. The new zip file "BlingBall Auto Install.zip" contains a simple batch file that will automatically install BlingBall to your device. It also contains a simple uninstall, as well. Instructions are in the Readme.txt that I added as well.

If you install using the automatic loader you will need to uninstall using the automatic loader, as well.

ok the problem is that iv downloaded the app for 4.5 and the color seems to work fine but as soon as the phone goes on standby the color goes away and comes back white after i press a button. For some reason the color wont stay on

ok never mind i fixed the problem
all i had to do was manually delete the old color
pearl and boom...the colored pearl stays =]

Is it possible to get a copy of the file blingball.jad, too?
Or is it possible to create it starting from blingball.cod or blingball.alx?

blingball.jad could be copied to the external memory, and used to install blingball with the file manager of the phone

Why not use the zip file with the auto loading batch file?

The error you mention is usually because you don't have the OS for your device installed on your PC.

Is there any way to only activate blingball when the phone rings? I would like the disco ball active when the phone rings, but off or a solid color when using the phone.

Hey, I downloaded it, but I can't seem to get it onto my phone.
It keeps saying "Error: unable to open port..."
But my BB is connected to the USB port.

Thanks for this, this application is great. It good to be able to change the colour of the pearl trackball again.

Not sure if anyone else is getting this, but I've set my Trackball colour to Blue on my 8100 device, it shows it as deep blue sometimes, but other times the white LED turns on as well as blue and you end up with a washed out blue colour.

Any ideas?

That's been discussed many times. The only way to fix that is to place a very small piece of black tape on the white led under the trackball.

Is it a bug in the software then? Or some other reason why it happens?

its because the program only controls one of the leds, only one is polychromatic.

Actually there is a red LED a Green LED a Blue LED and a white LED. The white LED comes on when the keyboard lights up. If you want this to stop so it doesn't wash out the other colors you can pop out your pearl and place a small strip of electricians tape on it and that will stop the other colors from being washed out.

well i have installed it but i am having the same problem as Zohuze, it says coloured until it is unused then reverts back to white!!! anything i can do to keep it coloured???
