I installed the Bling Ball app onto my Blackberry 8100 os 4.5.0.123 and it works perfectly until the screen goes to standby. As soon as I press a button, my trackball is back to plain old white until I change it again.

I am getting very frustrated at having to change the trackball colour every time it goes to standby.

Has this happened to anyone else? and how do I FIX IT!?

I downloaded both zip files but when I try to open or extract them it says the archive is damaged... Is there another download other than the one in the first post?

i cant figure out how to download this onto my blackberry from my computer..any help?

I'm having some trouble loading blingball onto my phone...I opened the Install BlingBall.bat file in WinZip, but hit a dead end. Apparently:
"'javaloader' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Anyone have advice to get past this?

The error I get is:
Connecting to device... debug: HRESULT error during Open: 80040154
Error: unable to open port

I also get a message on my blackberry about insufficent USB charge.

in the autoinstall file

open the .bat file with notepad or another text file editor,

in the line that starts with the command JAVALOADER

erase the characters:

.\

don't touch the rest of the line

save the changes.

then launch again

bye!

and to think, i almost switched back to the old 4.2 ( bc thats the only update available from tmobile for the 8100) i love the os 4.5, i couldnt be happier with my bb!!

The Sprint BlackBerry Pearl's model number is 8130.
It is not compatible with this application.

hello ,first thank you for the blingball 0.9 beta ,i just have one question,
when i change the color and i save it it work but after 10 second when the bb8100 light gose off and i press any number to get the light on the trackball change back to white, any one please know why.

i notes that TWOTHREEFALL is having the same problem so any one can help please

the other thing is i had color pearl it worked fine untill i upgrad to os 4.5 so do i have to uninstall the color pearll from my bb8100 because its not working and i have now the blingball ?

ok so i have a question ...i download it and it worked perfectly fine bUt...when i lock the phone....and the track ball turns the light off ! it goes back to the old configuration of the normal color of the trak ball...
and yes when i change the color i press save..and it works...so for example ..i chose red..i put save ..then the track ball its red...then when im puttin my phone on my pocket or the screen rests and goes dark..the trak ball turns off ..normal stuff ..but when i move it to turn the screen back on ..it goes back to the old color ...the normal one ..what do i do?

or download OTA directly from your BB.

How is that possible? There is no OTA link.

I just prefer OTA to desktop loader because it's much easier. I could host the OTA if you want.

First thanks, but it don't work here.. I have a Pearl 8100, OS 4.5 from Carrier Telus, after the install, the phone reboot and then I get this message: Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error. I can see the application in my Options, but I can't go in it.. any clue?

Thank you very much. Worked using the bat file, perfectly the first time. I have had the 4.5 for awhile now but colorpearl was working fine untill earlier today (I had the problem with the red LED light staying on the whole time). I uninstalled and installed this one all in a matter of minutes.

Perhaps whoever had the same problem I had with the color disappearing on the Pearl 8100 after going on standby, my problem was solved by removing the Color Pearl App and only having Blingball on my phone.

Wonderful app, really spices up the device! I especially like the "Disco" mode, where it cycles through various colors.

Question: is there a way to slow down the frequency of color changing in this mode? Would be great if it could gradually change colors...
