Many Jar files don't always work well on the BB... Make sure the file is FOR a blackberry, first. Same with JAD files, many will install, but some are not designed to work on the BB.

also, whats the difference between cod files and axl files?

if i download something via OTA i do spend some of my kbs (of my service plan) right?

Look here 3rd Party Application List - BlackBerryFAQ

For a Desktop Manager/App Loader install, you need both the ALX and the COD file.

Yes, downloading OTA, will use data on your BB.
